Hi guys, can anybody give me pointers on how to use SAS EG 4.3 to keep the latest data. E.g:

Name      Age     Date

A             10       10/2/2013

A             12       13/4/2015

B             8         15/3/2010

B             8         1/7/2010

I want the result to show:

Name     Age     Date

A            12       13/4/2015

B             8        1/7/2010

Please help. Thx

Code not tested:

data want;

set have;

by name;

if last.name;

run;

Or an approach that wouldn't require sorting the data beforehand:

Proc summary data=have nway;

     class Name;

     var age date;

     output out=want(drop= _type_ _freq_) max=;

run;

Assumes the date is a SAS date variable.
