Dear all,

With Windows 7 the fonts all get shades. I and some other users find that this is fuzzy / blurry and rather disturbing. And the same is true for the SAS Enterprise Guide 5.1 (I don't know about other versions, this is the version I have). For all users who feel the same here's the trick I used:

  1. Windows Start -> control panel
  2. Type Cleartype in the search field.
  3. Go to the search result and remove the check mark
  4. Go through the following dialogue. It does not matter what you select. If windows says you need admin rights ignore this message. Windows nonetheless deactivates cleartype.
  5. Open SAS Enterprise Guide
  6. Program -> Enhanced editor options -> Appearance
  7. Select the font name "Arial monospaced for SAP", size e.g. 11

Not wait a minute and you'll see that not only the text in your editor has a shadowless font but also all files in the serverlist, project list, etc.

Have fun 🙂

Dear Chris,

the document tells only half the truth. You need to dectivate cleartype before.

Best wishes
