How can parts of an EG project be executed from within another EG project? I received a customer request to run only certain reports from a larger project, but I prefer not to make a copy of the original project do to this. How can it be done?
This will work - however I would like to avoid modifying the existing project if possible. Ideally if I could have the ordered list setup in one project to execute the code in another this would be ideal primarily because this is a month-end project and I only need two reports from it executed on the 15th of each month. This way I could have the main project and the sub project (eventually) set in a scheduler to execute the items on the correct days if that makes sense.
Hi @Doug____ ,
Would it work for you to create a process flow or ordered list in the larger project and include only the specific reports that the customer wants? Here are a couple help topics from the SAS Enterprise Guide 8.2 help, tho the functionality would be similar in other versions:
Creating an Ordered List of Tasks
thanks,
Jennifer

Hi @Doug____ ,
As far as I know, unless the code that you want to run is saved as one or more external program files that you could then include in a second project, you can't access code in one project from another project.
We can check with @CaseySmith, tho, to be sure and to see if he has any other ideas.
thanks!

I wonder if you might be able to do it using the Enterprise Guide automation facilities, but that would be A LOT of work!
