EGuide Projects and BlackBoard

I have had my students submit their EGuide 4.2 projects to Blackboard 8 (a "Learning Management System" widely used in educational institutions). When I download them, I cannot open them with EGuide or WinZip. If they e-mail them to me as attachments, I can open them fine.

Anybody know what the problem is or a work-around?

If you submit zip files to Blackboard 8, can they be downloaded then opened with WinZip? It may be a generic issue with zip files.
