Environment:

SAS 9.4M5,

EG 7.13,

Windows Server 2016

A client is experiencing the following unusual behavior. When submitting a program for the first time the code will run (as an example only) in 3 secs. If you then click on the log tab, subsequent code submissions (same code) will now take 10x longer and run in 30 secs. If you do not click on the log tab, subsequent submissions of the same code take the same 3 secs.

Any ideas?

We are trying to find a test machine to try EG 7.15 in case it has been fixed.

We previously used SAS EG 7.13 on Windows Server 2012 and SAS Server on Linux, we didn't face this. Now updated to 7.15 and same. Please contact SAS Tech support on this.

That is odd. I have tried to reproduce with 7.12, 7.13, and 7.15 without success.  You could try closing the Log Summary view to see if that has anything to do with it, but that is a shot in the dark.

Does it happen with simple programs (ex. "%put &sysvlong;")?

Does it happen only when large logs are generated?

What is the code doing (ex. creating ODS results, creating output data, querying database)?

Yes, please contact SAS Tech Support.  We will need more information.
