Hi everyone,

I am using EG 4.3 and I need to run a time consuming stored process (4-5 hours) on it. I would like to know that how can I run the stored process in EG as a server background job without keeping the EG connection? I find that if I close the EG, the stored process will be terminated as well. Is there any options or workaround for this?

Thanks a lot.

You won't be able to run this via EG. As you note, when you close EG, you lose the connect to the server and can't re-connect with the results.

If you have the SAS Information Delivery Portal, you can run a stored process "in the background" and connect up with the results later.

If you don't have the SAS Information Delivery Portal, you only need someone with the right privileges on your SAS server, to set up the job to run as a service, or be started by some administrators scheduler.
