Hello, I'm a previous SPSS user and found it very simple to get my alpha and beta shape parameters out (descriptive analytics; descriptive analysts; QQ plots; Beta; click estimates and done) I'm trying to do the same in enterprise guide. I don't need to do all the beta analysis in SAS I just need the shape parameters. I have tried using SAS / Task / Describe / Dist Analysis / insert data / select beta / and running but the estimates that I get out are wrong. This clearly must be because I'm not doing this properly. Can any one advise what I am doing incorrectly? Thanks, Raych.

Hi Raych,

The reason could be how the beta distribution is written in SAS and SPSS. In fact, you can find more than one expression in probability and actuarial science books for this probability distribution. Please, check this site CDF BETA Distribution Function to discover what parameters are being estimated in SAS.
