Bar Chart Legend with more than 27 items

I have a bar chart and want to show a legend with more then 27 items.

It works fine with 27 (3 columns with 9 rows), but when i have more than 27 items the legend will not show. I have tried to modify the "specify layout" options but it doesn't change anything.

Any ideas?
