I ran a CART like Decision tree in SAS Enterprise Miner and set the number of surrogate rules to 5 under the node option.
How do you display the surrogate rules for a particular variable in the Results window once the model has run?
From the Results window, the View -> Model -> Node Rules selection provides all of the rules but this requires searching through the code. Is there a better method?
Please advise.
Thanks.
The easiest way to view the surrogate rules is to go into the Interactive tree utility once your model has been fit (unless you are already there). To access this functionality, click on the desired Decision Tree node and then click on the ... to the right of Interactive. Once the Interactive utility opens, click on the desired node and then click on View --> Surrogate Rules Detail to see the splitting rule(s) that were created. Let me know if you have any trouble locating it.
Hope this helps!
