Enterprise Miner Transform Variables not transforming

Running Enterprise Miner 14.1 with SAS 9.4 Desktop.

 

I am using the Transform Variables node, trying to bin some variables.  In the 'Variables - Trans' window, I change the 'Method' to Optimal Binning for the desired variables, but after running the node, it does not bin any of the variables.  If I instead set the method to Log 10, it does appear to perform the transformation.

 

Is there some setting I need to change?  Or is there a rule why it might not bin a variable?

The only thing I can think could be going on is that you don't have a target variable set, since a target is needed to do optimal (tree-based) binning.
