I am trying to combine a data dictionary with the accompanying dataset so that I can get the labels for each variable. However, I am unable to perform this in SAS EM. I have tried to use the "Merge" node to combine my dataset with the dataset by setting the role for the description field as "Label" and the field name field as "Key". However, that does not seem to work.

How should I do this with the functionality in SAS EM?

I think you'll need a code node and to program this yourself.

Here's a fully worked/demo example on how you can create data set labels from an external data set.
