Hello,

I am just finishing up a factorial experiment with a split plot design and am unsure if I also have a subsample element or just a treatment.

This is a vegetative propagation experiment in which each plant is a single unit in an individual pot. The main plot was watering, high vs low, and within each subplot were 3 blocks that each contained 20 perlite and 20 vermiculite pots. 10 of each of these were labelled at the experimental set up to be harvested at week 3 or week 5. After week 3, the pots were moved to ensure there were no gaps in the trays between pots with the initial order being preserved.

Basically, I am not sure if the week element should be treated as subsampling or as a planned treatment?

Thanks!

I think weeks is definitely a treatment, you are looking to see if  5 weeks produces different results than 3 weeks.
