Hi All I have an 9.4 platform intelligence horizontal cluster installed , when i try and run the management console I get

sas.GIF

there are 3 machines in the "cluster" bitest01 (master) bitest02 and bitest03 (slaves)

I am trying to test availability by turning off the metadata service on 02 and 03 ...any ideas

how to get quorum back? ( i am assuming 2 out of 3 nodes metadata server = quorum??)r 9.4 cluster problem

Hi! You need to have at least 2 metadata server instances running at the same time. Please refer to the documentation here:

SAS(R) 9.4 Intelligence Platform: System Administration Guide, Third Edition

If the master node fails, another node is immediately promoted to serve as the master node, and the cluster resumes operation. If a slave node fails, it drops out of the cluster,
an e-mail alert is generated, and load balancing uses only the remaining slave nodes. These failover processes occur automatically, with no need for user or administrator
intervention and no noticeable effect on user activity.

For a cluster to continue to operate, a quorum of the nodes must be running. If fewer than a quorum are running, the server is paused to offline status. Clients can continue
to connect to the server, but they cannot access metadata.

Thanks Diane that's kind of what i suspected I seem to have a misconfiguration somewhere as all 3 metadata servers are up just not "connecting" or cluster aware.
