Hello everyone,

When I try to run a simple job in SAS DI Studio, a message error appears: "The application could not log on to the server "(...).com:8591". No server is available at the port on that machine."

I already check the connection in SAS Management Console, and for my "SASApp" server, I can have access to the metadata server however when I test connection to the Workspace server, that error message appears again.

Please, if you have any idea what's going wrong, let me know.

Best regards,

Tiago.

You need to speak with the server admin, and your SAS admin.

Clearly there's something missing / wrong I your workspace server configuration. But what is hard tell given the limited information provided.

I'm using SASApp as my default application server and the SASApp - Worksapce Server was created by default too and has the following properties:

  • Authentication domain: DefaultAuth
  • Bridge Port: 8591
  • Process: sasdm.demo.sas.com
  • Users and groups:
    • PUBLIC (deny all permissions)
    • SAS Administrators (grant all permissions)
    • SAS System Services (grant all permissions)
    • SASUSERS (grant all permissions)

In User Manager -> SAS Trusted Users, I have the following users and groups:

  • Metadata server: Operation
  • Metadata server: User Administration
  • SAS Administrators
  • Metadata server: Unrestricted

Also the current connection in SAS Management Console is the following:

  • sas@SASBAP as Unrestricted
  • sasdm : 8561

Also, when I'm trying to validate the process inside SASApp - Workspace Server named "sasadm.demo.sas.com", the following error message appears:

  • "SEVERE: Connection refused: connect"
  • "SEVERE: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect"

Best regards,

Tiago

First, to be able to launch a non pooled ws server you need an os account in your metadata user profile.
Are you by chance using IWA?
If not, your OS user needs log on as batch job privilege if it's a Windows server.
Don't a unrestricted as little as possible. Don't connect it to an os user account.

Where I can create an os account? Or where I can find the metadata user profile?

When I access to SAS Management Console, I need to create a connectio profile which is automatically associated to the user: "sas@SASBAP unrestricted" 😕
