Hi,

 I need to move/copy

(SOURCE) network drive with 1.5 TB of SAS-Data

(DEST) an on Board SAS_Server 3TB storage.

Things I need to carry:

1. Complete Data

2. Date/time stamps

We have not been using Metadata till now. Its all Win2012 R2.

At the destination location we will eventually have permanent SAS-Lib ( on Metadata Server)  etc.

I been wondering what is the best way to move/copy data and in-short why.

I was thinking of rsync as sFTP would not keep date-time stamp.

Used SAS-ETL Studio ( now called DI Studuio ??!)  but that just too big of a tool for this job ?

For completeness I can use check checksum ?

Thoughts ?

Thanks for your time.

If this is just a one-off task, I'd remote into the new Server and use Windows Explorer to do a Copy and Paste from the source file share. If you are wanting to do this regularly then you could consider tools like Robocopy.
