Hello
I am new to SAS Master Data Management. I would like to know how to physically delete a Master Data Entity from the SAS MDM Data Model application available from within the SAS Data Management Console?
Can this be done from within the SAS MDM - Data Model application itself? Is there a dataflux job that can be used to do this?
The version is SAS MDM 4.2.
Thanks
Hi,
You can only retire entity types through the SAS MDM web application. This is primarily due to referential integrity concerns in the SAS MDM target repository. End users of SAS MDM would not see any mentions of this retired entity type in the SAS MDM web application and the web services you use to interact with SAS MDM will not typically reference retired entity types unless you specifically ask for them.
The SAS MDM data model is documented and it is possible to build a Data Management Platform job to do this but there are no pre-built jobs that will perform this action for you.

Thanks for the answer Ron.
To close this off I want to provide some more context. In this case retiring the entity was a not an option and the intent was to physically remove the entities. As Ron suggested a job was built to physically delete the entities from the MDM repository database tables.
