We are trying to make use of the REST Transformation (DIS v4.904) in order to retrieve data using PROC HTTP. However in our environment we have to specify a proxy (as also shown in this example for PROC HTTP).

As far as I can determine the transformation does not provide the possibility for setting either the proxyhost or proxyport.

Am I overlooking something?

If not, did anyone make a "User Transformation" based on the REST Transformation including the possibility to specify a proxy?

You could define the proxy as per Example 5: Specify A Proxy In a Macro Variable and have this as pre-code in your transformation.

@Patrick thanks for the suggestion.

The solution as proposed is indeed a workable solution and does the job.

Personally I am not a big fan of either pre- or postcode since it is easily overlooked but for now this seems the only way.

My personal opinion still is that the transformation should provide the possiblity to opt for proxy settings.

But for now this works.

@Resa Agree with you in regards of pre- and post-code and also that ideally there should be a parameter available - could even be just another input field where one can add any not covered parameters as key/value pairs.

What I've been doing in the past is define an "init" custom transformation where I create all these additional environmental setup - or if used only rarely then even a user written transformation instead of pre- or post-code just so this "extra" is clearly visible in the flow.

Dealing with proxy settings in DI Studio can be a real head-scratcher, huh? You're spot on that the REST Transformation doesn't seem to offer a way to set proxy details.

If you haven't found a solution yet, you might wanna consider crafting a ""User Transformation"" that includes proxy options. It's a bit of a workaround, but it could get the job done.
Oh, and speaking of solutions, I recently stumbled upon this option for a Fast proxy. Might be worth a shot if you're still grappling with proxy issues. Could help speed things up and get you back on track.
