Hi,
Is there a way to copy and paste transformations from one job to another? I know you can copy the job but are there any options to copy the transformations (and input/output tables).
Cheers!
Hi,
I am not able to understand copy and paste transformation.
If you want your job or input/output tables to copied then you can make .spk file and import where ever you want .
If the transformation is a generated transformation then you can specify your own path and transformation will be saved and you can use this by just drag and drop in your jobs.
Thanks,
Shiva
Say I have a transformation in jobA with specefic options/parameters set. I want to copy the transformation to JobB. I can drag the default transformation but will have to go through and set the parameters/options again. Is there a way to copy the existing transformation in a job to another job so that it preserves the options/parameters/precode etc etc?
Hope thats clear.
Thanks,
No, there are no direct way to copy parts of jobs into another job.
On way to do it is to copy the whole job, then delete the unwanted parts in the copied job.
If you have a part of job that is generic, or very similar between jobs, you might want to explore the possibilities to reuse the code in another way. This could be by isolate it to a job, which can be called from other jobs. Or, if you are using user written code, make a user written transform.
