Juletip #17 - Can I code in SAS Visual Analytics?

No not really, you can make some calculations, but else it is a point-and-click visualization tool – that though also have some impressive analytic capabilities.

But REMEMBER when you have SAS Visual Analytics on Viya, you also have a coding interface -> Develop SAS Code/SAS Studio.

And SAS Studio is using SAS Compute, that is and SAS9 engine, as the default calculation engine, as the picture below shows:

That means that you can run your SAS code as you know it from Enterprise Guide or Display Manager. Of course your libnames and other system dependent code have to be changed to your SAS Viya environment.

And do you want to use CAS?

Just use the command: ”CAS;” And you are ready to go!

Happy Coding Christmas – also in Viya!
