Often, maintaining the SAS environment moves down further and further on the list of administration tasks. All day admin life gets ahold of administrators, and is filled with immediate tasks. We often overlook the fact that even though our SAS system is up and running, it does need to be cared for. Flowers come to mind: the nicest flowers will wilt if they don't get the right care. So, what can we do to make sure our SAS environment will keep blooming?
Staying Current on SAS Hot Fixes
Experience has shown that staying current with SAS Hot Fixes, one of the most important admin tasks, is being neglected. Hot Fixes helps to keep an environment healthy and current. For that reason, I'd like to point out the newest version of Technical Support's SAS Hot Fix Analysis, Download and Deployment Tool.
The SAS Hot Fix Analysis, Download and Deployment Tool will analyze SAS 9.2, SAS 9.3 or SAS 9.4 deployments, create a customized report listing hot fixes available for the installed SAS products and generate scripts that will automate the download of the hot fixes.
The Hot Fix tool can be used to discover information about Hot Fixes in an environment - Metadata and non-Metadata Server alike. And remember, maintaining a SAS environment is more than Hot Fixes, but it is a very important part.
The link to the SASHFADD page is malformed. Misising a colon after the protocol.
This is the correct one: ftp://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/HF2/SASHFADD.html.
Hope this helps,

Thank you for catching that @jklaverstijn. The link has been corrected!
