In a previous post I showed how a planner can customize their plan by modifying where a dimension is displayed on the plan. The purpose of this blog is to show how to customize a plan by changing which members are displayed on the plan.
In the following plan the KPIs are being shown for three different versions. You may notice that some of the versions are empty such as the MFP-TD versions for Sls Tot C and Sls Tot R:
Select any image to see a larger version.
Mobile users: To view the images, select the "Full" version at the bottom of the page.
These can quickly be hidden by right clicking in the member and selecting Hide members:
After selecting Hide members you will notice that these members do not appear on the plan. Additionally, there is an indicator in the top left member of TY indicating that there is a hidden member:
Additionally, you can systematically hide members using Visibility Rules. For example, I want to hide the TY and LY version for NET_SALES_RETAIL_FCST. I could do this by selecting these members in the Visibility Rules and changing the Rule to Hide cell contents:
After applying this rule these members would then be hidden leaving a much simpler plan:
This post has shown how planners can modify which members are displayed on the plans that they are working with. In addition to hiding members, planning administrators can control which members appear on a plan when they create the plan. Future posts will show how this can be accomplished.
