Dear All

How do I get into the SAS Visual Analytics in the Frame of my Course . In the description it says "1.Open Internet Explorer from the task bar. 2. From the browser window, select SASVisualAnalyticsHub from the bookmarks bar. The SAS Visual Analytics sign-in page appears." but this bookmark doesn't exist - should I create it? How do I do it?

Hi jmrjunior,

I sounds to me like you are using the IE via your desktop. You need to open IE in the virtual lab.

Hi:
In order to book time with the Virtual Lab to practice, you have to make a reservation. Then, when you start your Virtual Lab, whether you start from a fresh image or a saved image, you ALWAYS must log on as Christine and start the LASR servers if they are not started and you ALWAYS must load your tables into the server. Whether you log on using a user name of Christine or of Eric or Rob or Jacques, the password for the software in the Virtual Lab is ALWAYS Student1 (capital S, number 1 at the end).

In a production environment, your administrator would make sure the LASR servers were started and tables were loaded. However, on the Amazon Virtual Lab, it is the student's responsibility to perform these tasks. This is why we have placed the setup instructions in a prominent position inside the course, as shown below:

In the Visual Analytics course, when students use the Virtual Lab image, they MUST log on as Christine and start the LASR servers and then, they MUST load the tables (such as Insight_Toys or Product_Analysis) before doing any of the practices. They have to perform these setup instructions EVERY time they log onto the Virtual Lab server.

Here are some useful links in the SAS Community Forum for the Data Science Students:
