Hi:
Not sure what you mean by "course/class" -- the free trial of the SAS Academy for Data Science shows all 3 "levels":
1) Data Curation has 4 classes in 1 module
2a) Advanced Analytics Professional has 9 classes split into 3 separate modules
2b) AI&ML Professional level has 5 classes split into 3 separate modules
There is a Welcome and generally an overview in each module. As you can see, however, the free trial is not 1 "course". The free trial is a package of potentially 18 courses -- to earn the Data Scientist credential, everyone studies the Data Curation classes and then chooses which analytics level they want to pursue. We recommend using the free trial to decide between the Advanced Analytics work or the AI&ML work.
There are hand-on exercises and activities and quizzes in the classes. Not in all classes. Many of the overview classes or short Welcome videos do not have exercises or practices. However, when you are ready to practice, look for either an "Open Lab" button or a Virtual Lab Reservation System pane in order to make your reservation for a Virtual Lab session in which to practice.
You said that "that whole of this course one" has been just theoretical. It's hard to comment in more detail without knowing which level you clicked into and which course title you clicked on. I know that there are practices and hands-on opportunities in the SAS Academy classes. If you read some of the previous postings in the last month you'll see some questions about the practices using SAS software in the Virtual Lab.
