Although I have completed all the exercises in Chapter 4, It still shows up as not completed.
Is this because I need to complete all the case studies ?

I am now working on Chapter 5 also.

Do I need to complete all the case studies before chapters 4 and 5 show up as completed.

Thanks.

Odesh.

Hi:

Please be sure to exit completely out of the VLE and then come back in. Depending on what you are referring to for Progress tracking, you may or may not be looking at the right place. For example, the VLE for the SAS Academy classes is composed of "modules" and each module is composed of separate classes and case studies.

You MUST enter the VLE by starting from your My Training page https://support.sas.com/edu/viewmyelearn.html

and logging into your Profile and entering your SAS Academy classes from your My Training page. This is the way the JavaScript that controls the courses and progress tracking gets started correctly. If you use a saved bookmark (one that starts vle.sas.com) to enter the class, you would not be entering the class correctly. You must start from your My Training page.

You might be referring to the "external" dashboard that sits outside each course when looking at progress instead of the "internal" progress inside each course. For example:

We track progress at the individual course level, not at the VLE level outside each individual course. So do not worry about or refer to the "circle" dashboard for your module. It is probably going to never get to 100% because many of the courses have "hidden" elements for instructors that a student can never complete. The blue/green progress blocks and/or the checkmarks in the Table of Contents for the course (on the right side of the page) are the Progress you should pay attention to.

Sometimes, you have to completely exit out of a browser, and start back in a fresh browser session to enter your course in order for your Progress to be updated. And remember, that we only recommend these browsers: Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox for the e-learning classes. We do not recommend the use of Microsoft Edge.

For classes that have a quiz at the end of each lesson, you must take and pass the quiz in order to get that lesson marked as complete. For classes that do NOT have a quiz at the end of each lesson (such as the DataFlux class), then you need to watch or open every item in the Lesson or Chapter to get credit for the Lesson. For example, here is what I see in my DataFlux class Chapters 2 and 4 are checked, but not Chapter 3, initially:

chapter3_progress.png

When I looked inside Chapter 3, I saw that I'd skipped over some Exercises and demos and lectures. When I went back and listened to those items and did the exercises, then when I exited out of the Chapter, the box was checked and the blue progress block for Chapter 3 had turned green.

There are no quizzes in the DataFlux class, so depending on where you're looking, I suggest that you go back starting from your My Training page and look at each chapter to see what the status is.

I hope this explains the difference between the Progress tracking with "circles" as shown in the Dashboard and the progress tracking inside each class. What really matters, of course, is whether you've prepared enough to take and pass the graded exam at Pearson VUE -- that is the certification that really counts. The e-learning classes and case studies server to prepare you for the Data Science graded exams. You only earn a credential when you pass the graded exams as administered by Pearson VUE.
