SAS 360 Match now checks for and removes all spaces at the start or end of tags. This check prevents customers from missing targeting opportunities that are caused by accidental spaces in tag values.

The extra spaces, which might stem from input errors, cause a mismatch between the tags and the target on the ad call. This mismatch results in missed opportunities to serve targeted media.

This step has been applied to existing tags. While migrating the existing tags, we found some values with and without spaces. In these cases, we’ve soft deleted the entry with spaces around it – we will not use it for targeting but keep it for reporting.

In our tests, most flights continued to deliver as expected, with one unusual case that we highlighted under alerts in the My Work tab if you have a matching scenario on a flight. The error scenario happens when there are existing values with and without leading spaces using the in operator.

Modified ad hoc targets did not prevent any flights from serving. Rather the opposite was the case: Flights that were not delivering began to deliver when their ad hoc targets were modified.

Please check your My Work tab to see if your flights have been impacted by this change.
