I used various SAS products while doing a masters degree program. Never learned SAS code though. Now trying to start do that with SAS OnDemand for Academics and the “SAS Programming 1: Essentials” course in the SAS Virtual Learning Environment.

First question: What browser do I need to view the vids? I’ve tried Firefox, Chrome, Brave, LibreWolf, and Chromium. Installed Widevine when prompted. Still I get an error message: “This video is either unavailable or not supported in this browser.”

Second question: I don’t actually need the videos; there’s a text version provided. During setup, we’re asked to find ep101d01.sas in the “demos” folder. But I can’t locate this folder in SAS Studio. According to the text, this should be available in SAS OnDemand for Academics (which is what I’m using). Anyone know where I can find this?

Hi:
The class videos are hosted on BrightCove servers. Failure to view the videos even with Google Chrome or Firefox points to some restriction in your network or browser settings. Please read this article to see which ports and domains need to be enabled for the videos to work: https://studio.support.brightcove.com/general/architecture/domains-and-ports-must-be-accessible-vide... .
If you are using SAS OnDemand for Academics, there are explicit instructions in the Course Overview and Data Setup section of the course for how to set up the data. You need to run a folder and data creation program on SAS OnDemand for Academics in order to make everything needed for the class. Please go back to the Course Overview and Data Setup section -- it is the first one listed in the table of contents on the main class page.
