converting characters

Is it possible to convert varchar to char and from char to varchar. If so, then can anyone send me the code to do so.

I wonder whether you are possibly referring to the VARCHAR datatype??? Does this have anything to do with trying to read MySQL data or using ODBC drivers??? Can you explain a little more about what you want to do?
