What is the syntax to create a hyperlink in a SAS data set then have it export out to Excel with a workable hyperlink?
I read up online one option is using ODS ... Thank you for your assitance

Hi,
It does depend on how you are getting your output from SAS into Excel. For example, if you are using Proc Export or ODS CSV then I would not expect a hyperlink to be possible because if you were just typing data in cells, you would have to use Excel drop down menus to create hyperlinks ...and those two methods are the equivalent of just typing data in cells -- with no way to control Excel menu items until you get the file opened in Excel.

But if you were using HTML or XML methods to send ODS output to a file that Excel could open (ODS MSOFFICE2K or ODS TAGSETS?EXCELXP) then it might be possible to do. Previous forum postings can be found by searching for these previous post numbers: 17219, 18602 and /or searching for how hyperlinks are created in Microsoft "flavor" of HTML (such as that created by ODS) or Microsoft 2003 "flavor" of XML (such as that created by ODS).
