Using ExcelXP tagsets on Windows vs. UNIX?

Hi guys.  "test5.sas" runs all the other codes except "test_on_unix.sas" which is more like it's UNIX version.

When running my "test5.sas" code on PC, the label off of my TITLE statement beautifully merges and centers for me across 3 cells on the first row of each of those tabs in each of those XML files.  The minor issue is when I ran "test_on_unix.sas" on UNIX by batch submitting, the title label ends up populating only the left-most cell on the first row as you'll notice in the "ZipGroup<1-2>_on_unix.xml" files.

>> bsas test_on_unix.sas -sysparm 1 -log t1.log

>> bsas test_on_unix.sas -sysparm 2 -log t2.log

>> more t1.log

>> more t2.log

Is there a way to still merge and center the titles when using ExcelXP tagsets through UNIX?  BTW I'm using SAS 9.2 and the latest tagsets.

Do you also have the NOCENTER  system option turned on along with the Minimal style? This combination would produce the behavior that you are seeing.

Hi:

  When you test on UNIX, do you have the same version of SAS on UNIX as you do on Windows when you test? What about versions of TAGSETS.EXCELXP? Are both versions of the tagset template the same on both operating systems?  How about the log messages when you run on UNIX -- are there any log messages over there? The behavior with the titles almost seems to me like a version mismatch. This might be something you want to work on with Tech Support. They can match your version of Unix and your version of SAS and your version of the TAGSETS.EXCELXP template -- that's really the only way to test. I only have SAS 9.4 to test with.

Chevell, no I didn't use NOCENTER.

Cynthia, yes we're also using SAS 9.2 on UNIX.  Same latest version of TAGSETS.EXCELXP on both PC and UNIX too. I did save logs for those batch runs too. Here are there attachments. Perhaps provide a link to this thread too when messaging SAS tech support?

Hi:

  Yes, that is a good idea. It's a puzzle. I didn't see an ODS PATH statement in your code, so my assumption would be that both programs were writing to SASUSER.TEMPLAT. I would definitely recommend that you open a track with Tech Support on this. And, when you open a track with Tech Support using this form: Technical Support Form you have much more flexibility in the explanation you provide and it's easier on the form to provide a link to the Forum posting where your zip files are located.

Cynthia, keep in mind that I did involve the ODS TAGSETS.EXCELXP statement in my code if you look at it again more carefully. I'll show your tech support colleagues this link anyways. Thanks.

ODS PATH is not the same as ODS TAGSETS.EXCELXP. ODS PATH controls the search order and indentfies where to store items created from proc template.
