Has anyone had luck using ods to move data to an Excel sheet directly from a UNIX enviroment. I know it is very easy to do locally(PC SAS), but want to automate the output directly from UNIX.
Thanks

Hi:
If you have SAS/Access for PC File Formats on your UNIX system, then see Example 2 at this Tech Support note site:
http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/acpcref/59619/HTML/default/a002644677.htm

Otherwise, if you do not have SAS/Access for PC File Formats on your UNIX system, then your choices are to use PROC EXPORT to create a CSV (comma separated value file) or to use ODS to create either a CSV file (ODS CSV) or TAGSETS.EXCELXP to create a Spreadsheet Markup Language (XML) file. Since the CSV or XML files are both ASCII text files, you should be able to FTP them from UNIX to Windows with no problems.

For more help with this task, you might consider contacting SAS Technical Support.
