Hi,
I am working on creating some good report by using proc report procedures and ODS PDF. I need Best Practices one should follow to generate good PDF reports.
AFAIK that doesn't exist. Usually the requirement is get the report the way the client wants.
I would suggest following the standard SAS best practices, because it's really just a step in your coding.
I don't know about specific PDF but there are plenty of documents and websites that will have ideas about document layout in general. Find one you agree with and use the appropriate SAS features to follow the guidlines.
If you work for an organization that has a style manual or document I would start there. Or at least find out if you have one.
I second @ballardw suggestion of following your companies style guide. My company has very specific style guides that specify the fonts, sizes, and colours we can use in our reports - especially the public reports.
