ODS RTF difference between 9.1.3 and 9.4

Hi All,

I have an issue with ODS RTF following the move from 9.1.3 to SAS EG 9.4.

If I run the same code on both environments:

ods rtf file="c:\report1.rtf";

title "Listing of CLASS data";

proc print data=sashelp.class;

run;

ods rtf close;

The RTF code generated in 9.4 contains "\pgnrestart\pgnstarts1\" which means if I combine multiple RTF files and create a table of contents each report starts at page 1 - when running the same code in 9.1.3 this does not happen so the table of contents works correctly.

I attach two screenshots of how this is being interpreted in Word. I need an option to stop this happening in 9.4 and for the "Page Number Format" in Word to be selected as "Continue from previous section" as in "Test1.PNG" picture attached.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi:

  If you have differences between 2 versions of SAS, especially with the generated RTF control strings, this is an issue to raise with Tech Support. If there is a workaround or if there is a defect that needs to be reported, then Tech Support is the appropriate team to open defect reports.

  Have you tried tagsets.rtf to see whether that makes a difference? the only other thing I can think of is putting pageno=10 or whatever number you want for the second file's page numbers.

Hi Cynthia,

I will try tagsets.rtf but there are quite a number of historical programs which would need to be updated if this does turn out to be a solution.

Have you got contact details for tech support if I need to follow up with them?

Look at the tiny letters at the bottom of the forum screen. In tiny blue letters, you should see "submit a problem report" and click that link.
