Hi:
This does not seem like an ODS or Base Reporting (PRINT, REPORT, TABULATE) question. If you have problems using PROC IMPORT or writing a DATA step program to import in a way that preserves leading spaces in a variable field, your best bet for help is to contact Tech Support for help with the INFORMATS that you use to read your file.

To send a question to Tech Support, go to http://support.sas.com/ and in the left-hand navigation pane, click on the link entitled "Submit a Problem".
