I'm writing approximately 48,000 PDF files in a macro loop similar to the following:

ODS PDF STARTPAGE=NEVER FILE=&CurFile ;

ODS NORESULTS;

TITLE ' ';' ';

DATA _NULL_;

SET CurRecord;

FILE PRINT;

PUT ' ... text stuff ... ';

RUN;

ODS PDF CLOSE;

Performance seems to slow to less than a third of its original after many (400?) PDFs are created. Any other ODS or SAS global settings that might speed the process?

Hi:

  With so many files being created, my recommendation would be that you work with Tech Support on performance tuning.
