Connecting to an External Database

Does anyone know the SAS SQL code required to connect to an environment on an external server? I know the code to connect to a database on a server I am connected to.

I have the IP address, the host name.

Hi:
This is not an ODS or Base Reporting procedure (PRINT, REPORT, TABULATE) question. There are many examples of connecting via SQL in the SAS/Access manual for the database of choice.
