Complex report - one row per page

I'd like to put together a detail report that pages by observation.  And since I'm only displaying a single observation per page, I'd really like to utilize the page space to it's fullest (see jpeg below for a very basic example).  Can someone point me to some resources that might provide tips or templates for this kind of thing?

This is commonly done for clinical trials, so something might pop up there.
