I'm using macOS High Sierra and SASU. At home, it works perfectly. When I'm at the university, it always, ALWAYS displays a browser error. WHY? I thought it was a local host... I also thought it could, theoretically, work offline? How can I get it to work at home AND at the university?

P.S. it's not a mac issue because a colleague with a pc has the same issue.

Thanks!

Verify that you have the VM running and open. That always has to be open when you want to run SAS. If it is, what error are you getting, show a screenshot with the VM and your browser error in one shot.

If you're using Academics on Demand, that runs on the cloud, not on your computer. So if you have to log in with a password, then yes, you need an internet connection.

The browser error just says to delete my cookies and such. Which I have... repeatedly. The machine is on every time. I’m using the virtual box.

Screenshots? Which browser are you using and do you have an browser extensions.

I’m at home, now so I can’t screen shot. I’ve tried using various browsers but primarily, chrome. How do I tell if there are any extensions?

Did you add any? Ie Ad blockers?

It's under More Tools>Extensions

I have no idea. I haven’t touched the computer in about a year. Then, I suddenly needed SAS and had to switch from my iPad to it. If I completely reset the browser, will that remove any extensions?

No idea, you may need ask in a Chrome forum or somewhere else. But you click the three dots in the top right corner, click more tools and then click Extensions to see. But I would first try restarting your VM and browser at school and then retrying it. If it doesn't work, include a screenshot with the error.

I’m using virtual box btw.

I caught that. I assume you're not using 6.0 though, it does have some issues.

I just updated. Is it possible that I’m simply not able to use the cloud on the university WiFi?

No, SAS UE does not require an internet connection. You didn't save the VM to a virtual space did you? Ie on DropBox or OneDrive?

There's no 'cloud' with SAS UE, Oracle VirtualBox is basically running a SAS server locally on your computer and you connect to it using the browser. But your web address is either localhost or 127.23.###.###

I'm simplifying this a bit, but that is a general idea.
