I just installed SAS and have received this error message:

The SAS Windowing environment is not available. This version of SAS can be used with SAS(r) Studio or in a batch environment. Use SAS(r) Studio or other client tool to access SAS. See http://support.sas.com/kb/52/757.html for more information.

I am unable to open SAS. Any advice?

What version of SAS did you install? If it is the new SAS Office Analytics on Viya, then the only development environment is SAS Studio.

Edit: That SAS note refers to SAS University Edition which is no longer available. Use SAS On Demand for Academics instead: SAS Software for Learning

In the deployment set up did you also install Enterprise Guide or SAS Foundation/Base?
You would have needed to select those as well to include another IDE.

Yes, I have both

What happens then when you run sas.exe (SAS Windowing Environment)? Do any error messages show? If so can you post them?

I'm assuming you purchased a SAS license/installation from SAS or is an academic version provided by your institution?

Yes!

That isn't a yes or no question.
