Questions first...then code

Q1. When you buy SAS / (DATA) Access do you get access to everything or is sold by A la carte?

Example, SAS / ODBC

Q2: SAS / Access to PC

a. (Is this needed to use the SAS-MS-Office Addins)?

b. Will this work with Office/Microsoft 365 or just on-premise Office)?

Q3: I saw two products I have no idea what they are:

a. What is SAS High Performance Suite? Is a suite of SAS tools for HPC(High Performance Computing)?

b. SAS IML? Is this Data Access to IBM's IML or is this something different?

Q4: How can you tell what type of system SAS is installed on?

a. Operating System:   SUN 64  .  Is this really a Solaris or an Oracle Unix(Oracle bought Sun)?

b. What does this mean? "29NOV2022 (CPU A)"  I know what the date means but CPU A? Can you tell how many cores are on this system through SAS or is SAS only licensed to Core A?

======Terminal Output

I ran the system product command on customer's SAS installation but it shows this:

Q1. When you buy SAS / (DATA) Access do you get access to everything or is sold by A la carte?

Example, SAS / ODBC

SAS/ACCESS to ODBC gives you the ability to access all ODBC-compliant databases.

Q2: SAS / Access to PC

a. (Is this needed to use the SAS-MS-Office Addins)?

No, those are separate. It provides the ability to read and write MS Office-type files like Excel spreadsheets and Access databases.

The Office Add-In adds functionality to the MS Office product itself so you can connect to a SAS server from it.

b. Will this work with Office/Microsoft 365 or just on-premise Office)?

It works with both.

Q3: I saw two products I have no idea what they are:

a. What is SAS High Performance Suite? Is a suite of SAS tools for HPC(High Performance Computing)?

It's not really a separate product. I'm pretty sure it works with SAS/STAT high performance procedures.

b. SAS IML? Is this Data Access to IBM's IML or is this something different?

No, IML is a SAS-proprietary matrix language.

Q4: How can you tell what type of system SAS is installed on?

a. Operating System:   SUN 64  .  Is this really a Solaris or an Oracle Unix(Oracle bought Sun)?

I think this is Solaris only. You can check out the server in more detail by remotely logging onto it and using OS commands.

b. What does this mean? "29NOV2022 (CPU A)"  I know what the date means but CPU A? Can you tell how many cores are on this system through SAS or is SAS only licensed to Core A?

I suspect you are licensed for how ever many CPU cores are on your Solaris server. You can always ask SAS Tech Support for confirmation.
