Remove decimal from variable

Hello, 

 

How do i remove a decimal from a variable? 

 

For example - go from:

ID

3.4

66.5

z4.1

 

to:

ID

34

665

z41

 

Is this possible using the cat or catx function?

compress(var,'.')   should work?
