I've been collaborating with the academic community on a new AI application.  It knits together data from psychology, sociology, history and linguistics.  We're creating a very novel teaching tool for the most basic education through doctoral research.  I'm at a point where I realize we can't develop this inside a university because there's too much "noise" created in crossing over and managing departments, schools, etc.  Although attracting research funds is much easier through a university setting, I think it's best to move this to the private sector: either a corporate setting or some type of angel or VC route.  I'm sure someone out here has been down this path before and I'm looking for input and suggestions.  Please post if you can assist.
