Hi @archita

In addition to books (such as the Base certification guide for example, which I recommend because it contains a lot of scenarios and meaningful examples), the best place to find SAS real life problems and learn how to troubleshoot them is ... the SAS community!

There are tons of highly diverse posts on common topics on which users struggle with.

Trying to solve them or just look at expert solutions are an incredible way to strength your knowledge.

Best,

Hi @archita

And welcome to the SAS community!

The Free e-learning SAS programming 1 is a great foundation tool to get more familiar with the software and learn the basics of data manipulation, etc.

Then, depending on your goals, you can focus on statistical tools, data visualisation tools, etc.

Check also the SAS e-book section.

All the best,

Tow work through the Programming 1 course as suggested, you need access to a SAS installation. The easiest way is to download and install University Edition and the necessary virtualization software (Oracle Virtualbox or VMWare VMPlayer).

Hi @archita

You're welcome.

In my opinion, SAS® Certified Professional Prep Guide: Advanced Programming Using SAS® 9.4  and SAS® Certified Specialist Prep Guide: Base Programming Using SAS® 9.4 are the most useful books to learn SAS programming as they cover almost all important topics (basic data manipulation, key concepts such as formats etc., useful functions to deal with a large range of expressions, and also SQL and macro language +++).

Then (and depending on your usage), if you want to learn more about :

- reporting, I know there are some books on PROC Tabulate or PROC report (some books focus on "theory" and some other on use cases -> choose them according to your learning preferences).

- statistics (which is not in the certification guides): A Step-by-Step Approach to Using SAS® for Univariate and Multivariate Statistics, Second Edition is a must have.

Best,
