I saw a few other threads that have been marked as "solved and closed" about this but I am still stuck and looking for more detailed solutions.

I just got a Chromebook tonight so I can get some work done on the road while not emptying my bank account for a good laptop. I am new to the chromebook concept but I am struggling to get SMS to run on this.  On my PC I have virutal box set up and I boot SAS UE through it, but on both the SAS download and Virtual Box download page they only show Windows, Mac, and Linux.  Can someone give me clear steps on what I need to do to get SAS UE running on here?

Thank you in advance,

Lee

Short answer: you can't. Only the three operating systems listed are supported.

AFAIK, neither Virtualbox nor VMPlayer are available on Chrome OS.

But you can use the Chrome OS to connect to a PC that has UE installed: https://communities.sas.com/t5/SAS-Analytics-U/SAS-University-Chromebook/td-p/175440

Or you can sign up for SAS OnDemand for Academics (free for any learner) assuming you have a strong internet connection.

You need to find a way to run a virtual imaging software on chrome, then you can likely load the image.

I don't think all chrome books support this though.

StackOverflow has some suggestion on getting that working;
