Hi everyone

Is anyone able to help me fix this issue with SAS please ?

When I leave a SAS program open over night, in the morning I get multiple errors when I try to run or open data files on program.

I have to close and reopen the application to get it running again.

Error code below

The open data operation failed, The following error occurred

An error occurred executing the workspace job reference SDS failed to provide SAS workspace

SAS version is 9.4

Thanks 🙂

The most likely cause of your problem are firewall rules enforcing timeout limits on inactive SAS server connections. You need to talk to your SAS administrator to find out what timeout rules are in place and whether keeping server connections going is allowable at your SAS site.

It is possible there may be other reasons for dropped connections like overnight service restarts, so again consulting your SAS admin should be your first action.
