Hi,

I was using SAS University Edition, but I read it will not longer be available soon, so I'd like to switch to SAS OnDemand.

I have multiple datasets stored in many subfolders, all of them included in a folder "my folders", which could be accessed directly with SAS University Edition. I was wondering if it is possible with SAS OnDemand to use files in a similar way. Up to now, the only way I found to access our files is to upload them one by one on the cloud. This is not very convenient when there a several hundred of datasets.

All files you want to access using SAS On Demand have to be uploaded first.

Hi:
I haven't tried uploading more than about 20 files in one upload session, but selecting multiple files to upload has worked for me. The files were uploaded from my personal computer into a subfolder under Files (Home) on the OnDemand server. What I uploaded contained a combination of SAS data, SAS programs, TXT files, and CSV files. The Files (Home) main node on your SAS OnDemand account is roughly equivalent to the My Folders main node that you see in SAS University Edition. The difference is that the My Folders node is a shared folder that you defined to the Virtual Machine hosting software (such as VirtualBox) and the Files (Home) node is the /home folder allocated to your userID on the OnDemand server.
I have never tested the limits of exactly how many files can be uploaded at one time though, I would expect it is probably more than I've done and less than several hundred, if there is a limit on number of files. The "hard" limit on your OnDemand account is disk space, which is 5GB, so that is also a limiting factor in how much you can upload to the OnDemand server.
