Hardware sizing document and installation recommendations for SAS Viya 4

Hello everyone!

As a SAS Customer, we are currently doing a sizing exercise about our storage and we need to have the Hardware Sizing document from SAS that calculates what are the hardware and software requirements for a SAS Viya 4 installation on Open Kubernetes. We are focusing on the engine and not the Visual Analytics part.

I have entered the Customer Service portal but I cannot find the document. Do you know the location of that file.

I suggest you engage with your SAS Account Manager. When we went through this exercise it involved filling out documents provided by SAS regarding our current SAS usage. These get passed back to SAS's IT architecture specialists who then do the sizing exercise and pass the results back to you. At least in our part of the world this is provided as a free service.

Indeed I conversed with the SAS Account Manager.

He will instruct us on how to answer the questionnaire regarding the sizing about Kubernetes Environment and the SAS Viya 4 Content Migration Tool.

When you say storage, do you mean SW and data on disk? 

Disk is usually cheap (unless you have humongous sized data) and usually easy to augment over time.

Cores and RAM usually drives cost.
