Hello
We are working an SAS Viya 4 POC on AWS.
I was wondering if test users can be added in the Environment Manager.
These users are expected to run code for testing / use SAS VA.
Here are my findings.
In the sasdeployment.yaml it is indeed possible to add ordinary users.
This file is used at the time of deployment.
However once authentication from the authentication provider (LDAP) is configured then, any user so added above will not have access.
Not sure what you mean by "internal users". To run SAS code you need an OS-defined account to be able to logon to SAS Viya servers. SAS 9.4 has the concept of "internal users" only defined in SAS metadata but Viya doesn't use the metadata model.
Thanks @SASKiwi for the response.
My idea was that when we are testing SAS Viya4 on AWS for functionality, why not add a limited number of users and passwords through environment manager (or SAS Viya CLI) rather than rigmarole of connecting to the AD/LDAP.
Wondering if that is something that is a plausible solution.
I'm not sure if that is possible. You could check with Tech Support.
