Will SAS Learning edition allow me to connect to SQL2008?

I am trying to connect to a SQL2008 Express DB and am unable to connect via ODBC. I think it may be due to the fact SAS/ACCESS is not included with the Learning edition. Any suggestions? Thank You in advance!
