Hi everyone,

Im trying to get a bar chart with a horizontal date axis. I tried to get a nicer plot by changing the date format:

proc sgplot data=test;
 vbar reporting_date / response=y stat=sum;
 xaxis valuesformat=MONYY7.;
run;

Doesn't work ...

Does anyone know how to change the format of the x axis?

Thanks!

Hi @AndreasF,

The documentation of the VALUESFORMAT= option says: "For discrete axes, only character formats are supported."

But you can replace the XAXIS statement by a FORMAT statement to apply the MONYY7. format:

format reporting_date monyy7.;

Add the NOTIMESPLIT option to your XAXIS statement to prevent the time axis from splitting, Then, I believe your format will be honored.

Hope this helps!
