How can I  display location symbols on the regions?  some region names were not displayed, I think because of the tiny space. Is there any way to solve that?

It does help to show the code you have so far that doesn't have the names "fit". Then we can at least use the variable names.

If you have the values of a variable that are too long you could try creating a custom format to display the character or abbreviated text for that variable. You would only need to do that for the values that don't fit.

Something like:

Proc format;

value $shorttext

"This is a long name" = "TLN"

"Long name to char"  = "*"

;

In your Proc Gmap you would apply the format by adding:

Format namevar $shorttext. ;

I have also created Annotate data sets with Text and a line/arrow to the location.

And of course there is always the option of making a larger map realizing that may not be practical for all cases.

How were you displaying the region names, when "some were not displayed"?

Were there any messages in the log, that might indicate why they were not displayed?
